We Reported On This Before and Now Andy Lee Actually Calls Out Miguel Cotto!

We wrote on the 22nd of February how we thought that Andy Lee would go for Miguel Cotto.. and now he has!

Andy Lee said that he wants to fight in New York City this June, that got me thinking if he was looking at fighting Miguel Cotto.

It made sense to me that Miguel Cotto would fight in front of his loyal fans in his next fight at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

Cotto, coming off a loss to Canelo last November, is looking at bouncing back with a victory to get him a few more big fights before hanging up his gloves.

Lee called out Cotto on his Twitter saying, “NYC in June, Cotto lets make this fight.”

Cotto has much to lose in fighting Lee. Where as Lee, now coming off a loss and a draw himself has not as much too lose.

Think about it, if Cotto chooses to fight Lee, a 6ft 2 inch natural middleweight fighter, he could be in for a long night. Plus, a loss against a fighter that isn’t overly known of to the American public could bring the Puerto Rican’s retirement plans forward.

Lee on the other hand, has a lot to gain, beating a future hall of fame fighter would boost his chances of getting his WBO crown back that he lost to Billy Joe Saunders.

Lee is on a mission. He has made it clear he wants his belt back and soon. If Lee was to beat Miguel Cotto, that would put him on track.
