Deontay Wilder and Alexander Povetkin UPDATE!! Fight Could Go Ahead

I think I speak for a lot of boxing fans when I say we were very disappointed to here the fight with Wilder and Povetkin was cancelled.

This was meant to be a nice test for the WBC heavyweight champion and great viewing for us humble boxing fans.

But as we know, Povetkin was found to have an illegal substance in his body that brought an immediate end to that fight.

But now! News has just came to us from Povetkin’s Promotor, Andrey Ryabinskiy, saying how Povetkin has been retested and the results have come back clean. They are still wanting the fight with Wilder and are waiting for wilder to set a new date.

“We got new official Povetkin’s drug-tests. They’re clean. We are waiting for our opponents and some journalists to apologize or pay for their words” said Andrey Ryabinskiy.

So fingers crossed, this fight will be back on soon.
