Why Amir Khan Turned Down The Kell Brook Fight

Amir Khan was offered somewhere in the region of £8,000,000 to fight Kell Brook in what would of been one of the biggest fights in British boxing history. But, Khan turned this down.

Kell Brook says that Khan avoided him and the massive paycheque as he is scared of losing. I’m not too sure about that and here is why.

Let’s not get this wrong, Khan is already rich, he has a substantial amount of money from his time in the ring and outside of the ring. He will make more over the next 4-5 fights. Whoever he fights.

Khan said, “I’ve never gone into a fight just to make money, I’ve got too much pride to go in thinking someone is going to beat me or just for the money. I would never do that. I’m a young guy.”

Khan now 29, took the Canelo fight because he has always been about ‘achieving’ great things in boxing. I believe Khan took that Canelo fight because if he did fight Brook first and lost, the Canelo fight probably wouldn’t be available.
