Tyson Fury was at his press conference for the Wladimir Klitschko rematch when he was explaining how he beat Klitschko with his unorthodox style, saying, “Make no mistake, you know Wladimir Klitschko would put his fist through Wilder and his fist through AJ, and there isn’t no more to contest with, I’m not even going to mention Lucas Browne, there is no more heavyweights.
“The only man that could ever beat Klitschko was me, you’re looking at him, and I done it through unorthodox positions. An unorthodox style, an unorthodox approach to things, that’s how you beat them men.”
“How you beat ‘robots’ is do unorthodox things, touch the floor – punch him in the face, spin around in a circle, kick your leg up and hit him with a 1-2.”
“They’re ‘robots’ their not use to it, they’ve learnt it all out of a book. What I have, what I’ve got, can’t be taught, can’t be learnt, you’ve either got it or you haven’t.”
Then Tyson Fury turned his attention to Prince Nazeem Hamed, “Him in the back there will tell you that, Naseem Hamed, he was a master of it.”
Tyson then said, “Come on Naz, don’t be quiet in the back,” Naz replied saying, “No it’s all about you, just keep doing what you’re doing really well.” Then Tyson said, “Cheers, and just keep being cheeky and me and you will be at it, because you’re about my weight you are.” Then Fury said, “Listen, when I beat Wlad, forget AJ, I want to give you the first defence.” Naz the said, “You’ll come unstuck.” Tyson said, “I probably will.”
Naz went on, “We don’t have to talk about it, you’re world champion, you’ve done amazing, and I’m just happy that Franks beside you [Frank Warren].”
Then Naz said, “This is my son Sulaiman, I just wanted to tell you that,” Tyson said, “He’s bigger than you are.”
Sulaiman is the Prince’s youngest son. Naz said, “Let’s get back to Tyson, let’s get back to you,” Fury said, “Yeah this ain’t the Prince show this is the King show.”
“Prince is my sons name by the way for all those that don’t know,” Naz said, “That’s a good name,” Fury said, “I named him after you actually, because you are my favourite fighter from England.”
Naz said, “Did you really!? – Thank you, big respect.”
Fury said, “And if you watch me, I try and do things you do but at about ten stone heavier! It might look a bit more awkward and slower but it is effective still!”
Naz said, “Well you must be doing something right.” Fury said, “I must be.”
Great banter and mutual respect between these two British fighters.
