Roy Jones Jr’s proposed plans to fight a fan for $100,000 took a major blow recently when the Arizona Commission denied his idea of fighting a ‘random’ fan and says the fight should be against a professional.
This will put a major halt on the show that’s created much talk and interested since Jones last month announced the idea.
The rumour coming out of Russia on February 10th that Roy Jones Jr. is about to retire may actually become reality now, should Roy not secure this TV fight deal. As there has now been talk within the boxing scene suggesting Roy’s departure from the sport all together.
1000’s of would-be-fighters have already applied and will be left disappointed as their dreams of stepping into the ring with the pound for pound legend have been trashed.
The show is scheduled to take place on March 20th from the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, AZ. The Jones fight is the only fight looking at not taking place. All the other fights will go ahead. Including, Michael Bisping vs Chael Sonnen in a grappling-only match, Ken Shamrock vs Dan Severn and Kurt Angle vs Rey Mysterio amongst others.
