IBF world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua must be doing very well. I’ve been told that he wanted to buy a luxurious car for over half a million pounds.
Joshua, 26, became the heavyweight champion of the world when he beat Charles Martin earlier this month. A fight where he made 5 million pounds. The fight only lasted 4 minutes, that’s 1.25 million a minute. Not a bad wage.
Joshua now has a life that is a miles away from living in his mum’s council house in Watford. The man is now a multimillionaire.
When you have this sort of money, why not spend over half a million on a car.
The big puncher needed a limo for a special VIP Evening at The Premier Suite in Cannock, Staffordshire. So he hired this £600,000 Rolls Royce Phantom stretch.
A car he was so impressed with, he asked if he could buy it. John Smith, owner of Birmingham’s Phantom Limo Hire, unfortunately declined his offer, but gave him first refusal if does come to put it up for sale.
Ash Khan, 33, the manager of the firm, told us: “His management got in touch and asked if we could pick Anthony up in the Rolls Royce stretch Phantom.”
“It is the only one of its kind in Europe. American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. also has one, so it’s the ultimate status symbol.”
“Our driver picked Anthony up at his pad in London. Joshua was the perfect gentleman and even asked our driver to come inside for a drink and something to eat before they left for Cannock.”
“It was an honour to chauffeur Anthony from London to Cannock and back. He really is a class act and looked the part in the Phantom.”
This classy motor seats 6 people in the back, comfortably, it also has a fridge for your Champagne. It comes with two TV’s, an intercom and has more lights than a disco.
This limo company have been fortunate enough to drive other boxers such as, Amir Khan, David Haye, Oscar De La Hoya and Canelo.
“We have chauffeur driven a lot of boxing superstars. They want to be seen and pictured with the ultimate in luxury. We are also now getting a lot of enquiries from professional footballers,” concluded Ash.
