Gennady Golovkin Ignores Floyd Mayweather’s Fight Request

Floyd Mayweather gave Gennady Golovkin a route of action that would lead to Floyd return to boxing in a super fight against middleweight GGG.

Mayweather has mentioned one name above many over recent months and that was Gennady Golovkin. But, Floyd in his interview with FightHype.com has put that to rest. ….For now..

Floyd said to GGG’s team that if Golovkin was to face Andre Ward first, then he could get a fight with him.

I’m guessing this is simply a business decision, if Golovkin was able to fight Andre Ward and beat him, this would of added more weight to a Mayweather Jr. vs Golovkin match up. As many are talking about Andre Ward being one of, if not, the pound for pound best fighter in boxing today.

Floyd said, “I told GGG what he had to do if he wanted a fight with me, he’s got to call out Andre Ward, beat Andre Ward, then I’d fight him, but I haven’t seen him call out Andre Ward yet.”
