Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor are about to agree on the richest fight in boxing history.
The retired pound for pound boxing Star Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is set to take on UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor in Las Vegas this summer.
According to the Sun Newspaper, Mayweather Jr. is going to earn £100million in the boxing match, where McGregor will take home £7million.
Both McGregor’s team and Mayweather’s to have just got to agree on the money side of things then sign on the dotted line to bring us one of the most unusual bouts in combat sports for many years. An announcement is set to be made in the coming weeks.
It’s been rumoured to be originally set for May 2, but will happen later this year. It will be a pure boxing match. A source has said, Conor will have to lose 25lbs to match the desired weight that Floyd has set.
These two have clashed many times and both have had much to say about the other. Enough build up to create something of a buzz in the combat world. Something that would bring in lots of viewers.
One of the clashes these two had happened recently with the ‘racist’ claims: In an interview with Fight Hype, Mayweather said: “They say he talks a lot of trash and people praise him for it, but when I did it, they say I’m cocky and arrogant. So biased. Like I said before, all I’m saying is this: I ain’t racist at all, but I’m telling you racism still exists.”
This is when Conor McGregor asked Floyd Mayweather for a fight, a boxing bout. Comments that reached Team Mayweather as fast as the racial claims.
