Anthony Joshua is the newly crowed heavyweight champion of the world. Beating Charles Martin in just two rounds to lift the IBF heavyweight belt.
Now, many will be naturally linking Joshua and Fury. As both are now heavyweight champions and fellow countrymen.
In an interview with Michelle Phelps for Behind The Gloves Joshua explained how he doesn’t normally respond to ‘Twitter wars’ but Tyson Fury caught him at the wrong time, “I was on my way to training camp, as I was in the car for like three hours, and my boy was checking his Twitter and he said, ‘do you see this,’ and I said na, I’m not having it! So he caught me at the wrong time, I had the wrong CD in my CD player, I was banging my music, and I just na these boys can’t keep talking about me.”
“Im not really into that Twitter stuff, because if he sees me, he would say that too me, and I just told him how it is and I wouldn’t tell him any different face to face either.”
“I’m supposed to be this bodybuilder that can’t fight so why’s he so interested in me for?”
“You never here me talking about no fighter unless I’m asked about them, as these boys aren’t nothing to me, they’re just competition.”
On talking about how he rates Tyson Fury, Joshua said, “Who was his last fight before Klitschko? Chisora. Tyson Fury’s been a pro since 2008, and he’s only become champion now.”
“Who was he fighting in 15 fights? He was struggling against John McDermott years ago, so when we compare each other Tyson Fury ain’t sh*t to me, yeah he’s a champion but that don’t really mean nothing to me when I’m dealing with Fury.
