Regarded as one of the greatest featherweight boxers of all time, Sánchez would have his career and life cut short.
Training at the time for a rematch with Laporte set for that September, Salvador crashed in the morning of August 12, 1982.
He was driving his Porsche 928 along the federal highway from Santiago de Querétaro to San Luis Potosí, he died instantly.
1) Jack Johnson (55-11-8 35KO)
Jack Johnson was the first ever African American world heavyweight boxing champion. With 104 fights it was clear Johnson loved his boxing, fighting all the way up to the grand age of 60.
On June 10th, 1946, on U.S. Highway 1 near Franklington, North Carolina, after racing angrily from a restaurant that refused to serve him, he crashed his car.
He was taken to a hospital, Saint Agnes Hospital in Raleigh. Where he died. He was 68 years old.
