5) Joe Walcott (95-25-24 61KO)
This is the welterweight Joe Walcott, not the heavyweight Jersey Joe Walcott who faced Rocky Marciano twice.
Joe Walcott was known as the Barbados Demon, with 61 knockouts from his 95 victories, he had some nice power. Known for fighting men much bigger than himself.
Walcott died in 1935 at the age of 62, when he was hit by a car.
4) Carlos Monzón (87-3-9 59KO)
Monzón held the middleweight title for an impressive 7 years.
Monzón was charged with his wife’s death and sent to prison. Monzón served 6 years of a 11 year sentence and was due to be released the following month. He was on leave from prison when he died in a car crash in 1995.
3) Víctor Galíndez (55-9-4 34KO)
Galíndez was forced to retire from boxing with two detached retinas. He then went on to pursue his other dream, to become a stock car race pilot.
On October 25th 1980, Víctor participated in what would be his first and last Turismo Carretera race. He went into the pit for repairs when he was struck by a car that lost control. The collision killed Galíndez on impact. He was only 31 years old.
