Each of these boxers will be sorely missed from the boxing world. These 10 boxers lost their life’s on the road, in fatal crashes. This video is brilliantly put together by someone I have been following for a long time. OfficeHancho.
10) Diego Corrales (40-5-0 33KO)
Corrales will always be remembered for his fight with Castillo, one of the best comebacks in boxing history.
Diego Corrales died on May 7th 2007, precisely two years after his first fight with Castillo. He died near his home in Las Vegas.
He was involved in a three vehicle collision. Diego was riding his super bike, a 2007 Suzuki GSXR 1000 motorcycle.
Corrales tried to over take a vehicle at high speed but sadly hit the back of the car and was subsequently thrown 100 feet into oncoming traffic.
Corrales was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
9) Billy Collins Jr. (14-0-0 11KO)
Billy died on March 6th 1984. Billy’s promising career was cut short when he sustained injuries that he would never recover from, when an opponent used illegal hand wraps in a bout.
This effected more than Billy’s career. This was something the unbeaten fighter would never recover from. He began drinking heavily and his life went on a sad decline.
Billy and his wife started having marital problems and happiness for the man seemed far out of reach.
After losing two jobs and facing a life with no boxing and no money, he committed suicide by driving his car into a culvert near Tennessee.
